Federal Surplus Property Program
The Texas Facilities Commission manages the U.S. General Services Administration’s Federal Surplus Property Program (FSP) for the state of Texas. The Federal Surplus Personal Property Donation Program allows certain nonfederal organizations to obtain surplus federal property.
A TFC FSP representative will coordinate with the federal program for the donation of federal surplus property to public, tax-supported entities and eligible private nonprofit tax-exempt organizations. TFC staff evaluates each requesting organization and determines eligibility based on proof of eligibility through proper documentation.
State agencies and public organizations seeking donations of surplus federal property should contact the Texas Facilities Commission’s (TFC) for details on how to acquire needed items. TFC surplus properties representatives will guide eligible entities through the process.
Fees: The Federal Surplus Program operates on a self-sustaining basis and may require recipients to pay a service charge to cover handling, transportation, and administrative expenses. These fees are partly based on value of the property.
The general public is not permitted to obtain property from this program.
