Daytime Parking

The Capitol Complex has limited free parking and paid parking options which are provided on the Public Parking Options link below.

State Parking Garages are reserved for state employees use during business hours.

Visitors to state agencies are required to have a parking permit to park in a state parking garage or parking lot.  A state agency may request a permit from the Department of Public Safety and provide that to authorized visitors. Please note that agency issued or location specific parking permits from outside the Capitol Complex are not valid for parking within the Capitol Complex. (State agencies may find additional information by contacting DPS Parking Administration.)

Garage N (300 San Antonio St.) 
provides public daytime and after-hours parking. Public parking is available as pay upon entry via QR Code or at the pay-station at the garage entrance.

Free public parking is available for North Austin Complex visitors.

After-Hours Event Parking

Paid public parking is available at select State garages and lots for after-hours events. After-hours is weekdays after 6:00 PM and Saturdays and Sundays. Paid parking is available upon entry to the parking facility or pre-paid via the contractor website link: LAZ Parking

Parking attendants are not present at all times and at all locations. Some State parking locations require payment via the posted QR Code.

Garages leased to the University of Texas for athletic and Moody Center events are not available for public parking.

Affordable Parking Program

After-hours contract parking in State of Texas Garage N

The Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) offers downtown area business employees, hospitality, and entertainment employees the opportunity to park at the State of Texas Garage N during evening hours at a discounted monthly rate.

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and employees may obtain passes directly from the State parking contractor: LAZ Parking at TFCGarages@lazparking.com.

Location:
State of Texas Garage N (300 San Antonio St.) close to the 2nd and 4th St. Districts.

Hours: Monday - Sunday, 4 p.m. - 3 a.m.

Cost: $65 per pass per month.

Daytime Contract Parking Program

State of Texas Garages:  B, E, N, and R

TFC offers a Daytime Contract Parking Program providing daily parking via a paid monthly parking permit hangtag.

Limited parking is available only on the upper levels/rooftops of State garages B, E, and R; while open parking is available in garage N.

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Monthly hangtags may be obtained directly from the State parking contractor - TFCGarages@lazparking.com.

                 State of Texas Garage E (1604 Colorado St.)
                 State of Texas Garage N (300 San Antonio St.)
                 State of Texas Garage R (1706 San Jacinto Blvd.)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 5 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Cost: $125 per permit per month

Mystery Parker Program

The Texas Facilities Commission's Mystery Parker Program is looking for individuals that park at any of the state-owned Garages or Lots located downtown Austin and the Capitol Complex.

The Mystery Parker Program allows the Texas Facilities Commission to review our parking contractor service levels from our customers' perspective. The information gathered through a Mystery Parker helps us evaluate customer service, and employee integrity.

As a Mystery Parker, we ask that you evaluate and comment on the parking services by completing a brief questionnaire.

There is no payment or reimbursement paid to the Mystery Parker. However, the information you provide will help us make improvements to our program.

To participate in the Texas Facilities Commission Mystery Parker Program follow the steps listed below:

1. Download the Mystery Parker Questionnaire. (Word Format)
2. Complete the Questionnaire Form and save document.
3. Submit the Questionnaire Form to the Texas Facilities Commission via E-mail to cpse@tfc.texas.gov or fax the form to 512-236-6179.

The State of Texas allows some state property managed by the TFC, to be used for filming motion pictures, television, or commercial productions under a Temporary Use of State Property Location Agreement.

The use of a state facilities is at the discretion of the TFC and/or the tenant
agency. Requests to produce a motion picture, television, or commercial production are reviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis.

The use and safety of the general public, the agency, and their staff; the potential impact to State facilities or property, and the potential for disruption of State business or other scheduled activities; and the subject matter of the film shall be of primary consideration in determining whether to grant a production request.
